When beef or chicken product is labeled with the USDA Organic sticker it means that none of the animals were given special growth hormones, genetic enhancers or synthetic chemicals to produce more meat or make them grow faster. Most milk cows are injected with an artificial hormone to increase milk productivity. If you read the side of any milk container under ingredients you will see that the Protein, Vitamin D, Vitamin A and Calcium were all added to the milk and are not part of the gooey pasteurized mess that is put into the bottle. Organic milk on the other hand does not come from cows that are given artificial anything and so no added vitamins are needed.

Yes, organic foods are a little more expensive, but you won't need to eat 7 conventional peaches to get the vitamins and minerals in one organic peach. Organic foods should be seen as an investment in your personal health and well being and not seen as just more expensive. Just think of how many bouts with an upset stomach, diarrhea and constipation you will avoid by not eating pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. How many co-pays will you save for your family in going to the doctor for getting the flu or the common cold because your body just doesn't have the nutrients to help it fight illnesses. The benefits of eating organic foods are endless and nothing beats the positive effects it has on your health.
